Thank you for passing by the IL ABLE Exhibitor booth during June’s Abilities Expo. We were glad to share IL ABLE information as part of your visit to explore the latest in disability services and equipment. Some visitors to our booth even opened their IL ABLE Accounts right then and there!
Did you know that an IL ABLE Account can help you save to pay for many of the products and services that were on display at the Expo? A lift-equipped van? A support animal? Therapies
Money you save and invest in an IL ABLE Account can help pay for a wide range of expenses that come with living with a disability; services and products such as therapy, assistive technology, equipment, job training, education, and even daily living expenses, such as groceries and rent.
And almost anyone – family, friends, even fundraisers – can contribute to the IL ABLE Account.
Are you an Illinois taxpayer? You may be able to take a state income tax deduction for contributions made to any IL ABLE Account – up to $10,000 for individual filers, up to $20,000 for joint filers.
And earnings and withdrawals on an ABLE account are federally tax-free when used for qualified disability expenses.
Do you know someone who acquired their disability after age 26? Please forward this email to them to let them know that, on January 1, 2026, those with disability onset before age 46 will be eligible to own an ABLE Account. . Six million more Americans will become eligible to own an ABLE account and can start saving for expenses that help to improve health, quality of life, and independence.
