New Highs Reached

After a rough 2018 where almost every asset class declined, financial markets in 2019 experienced an incredible year as every asset class climbed higher.

The S&P 500 reached new highs over 30 times in 2019 and ended the year up 31.5%. Technology stocks were the big winners during the year rising more than 50%. Bonds also participated in the market rally as the Bloomberg Barclays Aggregate Bond Index rose nearly 9% over the year.

It’s difficult for investors to predict market movements from quarter to quarter let alone month to month. That’s why experts suggest that investors periodically review their investments with a long-term focus and match their risk comfort level with their overall investing approach.  Learn more about investment risk and comfort levels here.
